I explored Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, the REAL Avatar Mountains in China! From riding the world’s highest outdoor elevator (twice!) to hiking through stunning viewpoints and the peaceful Golden Whip Stream, this place is absolutely unreal.
These are the actual mountains that inspired Pandora in James Cameron’s Avatar, and seeing them in person was mind-blowing. I talked with locals about the park, and captured some of the most incredible natural scenery I’ve ever witnessed.
