We first prepare our beds using the double dig method. You can see that this is an area of our garden, that we are just building. Once we double dig the bed the first time, we use our Crafty Gatherer broadfork or our Crafty Gatherer Forksta to prepare and our beds each season. Why we double dig/broadfork:
Aerate the soil
Create better drainage,
Keep the beneficial microorganisms and ecology in the soil,
Break up compacted soil.
