Thanks to Graham at Folk and Roots for putting on Laura Wilkie and Ian Carr at Green Note on 16 April 2025. Laura has been involved with many musical projects, including Kinnaris Quintet, Fat-Suit and as a duo with Ian. As for Ian, he's been around as they say. I first saw him back in the nineties playing in Kathryn Tickell's band. This tune is on Laura's debut solo album 'Vent' which was released by Hudson Records in July of last year. It was released under the name, Laura Jane Wilkie and she produced it with Sarah Hayes. It features many old women's working or waulking songs which Laura had discovered. Copies of the album are available on vinyl or CD from hudsonrecords.co.uk
