“Baptisms in the River . . . at Delphy” 2025
It’s that time of the year, when perhaps a river dunk seems to be just that more inviting, especially when the weather is so hot, and the location so perfect . . . with River Baptisms being held yesterday in the River De Lank at Delphy Bridge on Bodmin Moor.
The Moorland Church service was again led by Revd Robin Thwaites with Demelza, Tristan and Andrew being baptised, and a number of locals and surprised moorland visitors/walkers witnessing the occasion. A blessed afternoon.
Due to an accident on the nearby A30 there was a tremendous influx of cars passing over the bridge as the service commenced, diverting to . . . no idea where according to one driver who stopped to ask the way (keep heading straight ahead I think was Cathy’s advice!). Despite encouragement to join in, not one diverted carload stopped to join the happening on the sands of Delphy . . . places to go obviously.
