The two Dismissive Avoidnant subtypes

🤔Hoping this doesn’t confuse anyone, but instead gives a clearer view of the varying nuances of some dismissive Avoidants.

The more you know about nuanced behavior the easier it is to nail down what yours and your partners attachment style is. This is why I tell clients all the time that the online attachment test aren’t accurate. Because, in order to properly distinguish which attachment style you are, the professional doing the assessment has to assess and understand small nuances like the ones I describe here. Of course, these are just two of many.

Although DA’s are the least variable of all the attachment styles, they can still have varying behavior that might make you question what their true attachment style is. If you’re new here and you’re wondering why it matters, it’s because studies consistently demonstrate that there is a strong link between early attachment experiences and adult relationship patterns. Therefore, understanding more about your own and your partners attachment style can potentially set you up for a more successful relationship.
