In this late August garden update, we not only give you a tour of the garden and talk about the various crops and how they are doing, but we need to start thinking about planting our fall crops of broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage. These young plants were started from seed last month and have been acclimating to the summer temps on the back deck. In a full garden such as ours, it’s not uncommon to have to pull up spent crops to make room for new ones. This is the case with our first round of green beans and our cucumber vines which we will work to pull today.
