This is a Reliant Scimitar GTE. If you aren't British, chances are you probably haven't heard of Reliant before. Reliant are a bit of a quirky institution in the UK, most noted for their three wheeled niche vehicles like the Reliant Robin, or famously the Reliant Regal Supervan from Only Fools and Horses.

This though was something different. The Reliant Scimitar came about from the British Daimler company opting not to take on David Ogle's original design. Reliant stepped in to create a two-door coupé with a body made from fibreglass. Then, Reliant asked Tom Karen of Ogle Design to create an experimental estate version of the Scimitar.

What resulted is what this casting is based on - the Ogle Scimitar GTE. There were minor modifications made to the production Reliant Scimitar GTE, such as exposed headlights and the loss of the gorgeous swept back windscreen, but it is still a very good looking shooting-brake.

My casting of this car had been messily repainted over its rather plain white coat that lie beneath. I decided to repaint it copper in homage to the original design drawings that I show off in the video.
