Alfaa Omar Bun Jeng was born in The Gambia in 1946 and passed away on a Friday in 1995. He was a distinguished Islamic scholar who established an Islamic center that attracted students from across the sub-region.
In the latter years of his life, his sharp intellect, mastery of the Qur'an, and deep, powerful voice made him the most sought-after Islamic preacher in The Gambia. Even after his passing, he remains the most listened-to preacher in the country, with his teachings continuing to inspire generations.
