Throughout the past two years, I decided to explore a major rail route in my own backyard that I had previously overlooked: the Hudson Line. Owned by Metro-North and Amtrak, the Hudson Line is a vital commuter corridor connecting New York City with the Hudson Valley & Albany. As I began exploring, I found a historic rail line that was truly trapped in time, where history still lives with a modern twist. Unique equipment not seen anywhere else in the country is a daily occurrence on this line, and the scenery is incredible. All of these factors make the case for this being, in my personal opinion, the most interesting passenger rail line in America. Throughout this 100-minute documentary, I will give you a tour of what this line has to offer, and by the end will have made my case as to why I make the above claim. You may end up agreeing, or you may not, but regardless, I think you will enjoy the scenes of the diverse rail action and beautiful scenery that this former New York Central mainline has to offer.
