Rafael Nadal, the 14-time Roland Garros champion, will be honoured in a special ceremony on Sunday, May 25, during the opening day of the 2025 French Open. Tournament director Amélie Mauresmo confirmed that the tribute will take place on Court Philippe-Chatrier following the day session matches.

Nadal, who retired from professional tennis at the 2024 Davis Cup Finals, holds the record for the most singles titles at a single Grand Slam. His final French Open appearance came in 2024, where he fell in the first round to Alexander Zverev.

"Rafa made history at Roland Garros, and his 14 titles will perhaps remain unequalled," Mauresmo stated. The tournament will also feature a dedicated exhibition celebrating Nadal's legacy at the Tenniseum.

Tributes will also be paid to retiring French stars Richard Gasquet and 2000 champion Mary Pierce. The 2025 French Open will run from May 25 to June 8.
