Gears 1 World Record Any% Speedrun

The grind is over. This is the world record speedrun for Gears of War.

Over the course of the last 2 years, I grinded this game (and nearly myself) into the dirt, doing literally thousands of attempts trying to get everything to go right. I learned a ton about how the game internals work and developed new strategies for many parts of the run. I survived through both terrible RNG and my own mistakes. Is the run 100% perfect? Probably not, but that's what segmented and TAS runs are for. However, in the end I've finally been rewarded with what I wanted from the grind all along- a run where I can look back and say, "damn, that was good".

I might run this game more in the future, but probably never this seriously again. For the time being I'm going to concentrate on a couple other Gears titles and really just be happy that I'm out of that Act 1 prison cell at last.
