Elfaria // エルファリア is a japanese-only JRPG with it's full name being: "A Fantastic Theater – Elfaria: The Isle of the Blest".
This game was developed by Red Company (later known as Red Entertainment), published by Hudson Soft and was released in Japan in 1993.

A long, long time in the past there was a kingdom of elves. The elves controlled the ‘power of Ra’ that built up in their holy land the ‘spring of Ra’.
‘Ra’ is the source of life and magical power. Far, far in the past there was an era called the ‘Magic War’.
Elves and people were in conflict, the ‘spring of Ra’ dried up, the land fell into ruin.
The elf elder meets up with a woman called Eruru. He has had a bad dream about the destruction of the world.
Someone was using the power of something or someone called Eruza-do.

You head to towns, villages, and forts (hereafter collectively referred to as "towns") that have been occupied by monsters,
and liberate the town by defeating the monster's leader (boss). Basically, you repeat this process over and over again.
The battles are also unique, and the only actions the player can take are to "select the magic to use" and "escape from the battle."
The rest of the game progresses automatically, with the player simply watching from the sidelines.
Unusually for an RPG, monsters generally appear within towns, and you cannot recover by resting within them.
HP and MP are fully restored when you leave town.
The biggest feature of this game's system is the Meld system. This is similar to equipment in other RPGs,
and by meld (equipping) up to five items per person, you can obtain status-boosting effects set for each type of item.

The game earned itself a 31/40 points score from famous japanese game magazine Famitsu.
It was popular enough to spawn a sequel named "Elfaria II: The Quest of the Meld" in 1995.

『エルファリア』 (ELFARIA) は、1993年1月3日にハドソンから発売されたスーパーファミコン用のロールプレイングゲームである。
製作には、レッドカンパニー（現：レッド・エンタテインメント）も携わっている。
続編として、当作品の100年後の世界を描いた『エルファリアII ザ・クエスト・オブ・ザ・メルド』（1995年）が発売されている。
シナリオはPCエンジン CD-ROM2用ソフト『天外魔境 ZIRIA』を手掛けたあだちひろしが、楽曲は三枝成彰が担当している。
