Doddaba Betta Peak

Doddabetta is the highest mountain in the Nilgiri Hills at 2,637 metres (8,650 feet).It is 9 km from Ooty, on the Ooty-Kotagiri Road in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu, India. It is a popular tourist attraction with road access to the summit.

There is an observatory at the top of Doddabetta with two telescopes available for the public.you can see an excellent view of Ooty from observatory and also from anywhere the Doddabetta peak,


Doddabetta gives a you a nice view of Ooty city, dodda means big and betta means peak so combining these two words , this peak is named as Doddabetta peak, you can visit doddabetta peak anytime between morning 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, as temperature will be less here compared to the ground level at ooty, plan to bring your wollens along, entry fee is of nominal 10 Rs for an adult, you can easily spend about 1-2 hours enjoying the nature here at Doddabetta peak.
