The site was abandoned back in the 1970's, when they moved to a new facility. One of the few mills that took raw materials and made them into textiles in the same location. Also its the oldest continuous operating made in America clothing company.
The mill was started by C.L. Hardwick, back in 1880. They used this building for 90 years. What is left today is about half of what the building was, two fires burned down much of the mill. Today there's a push to rejuvenate the historic complex with new businesses, lofts, restaurants, etc.
