Liszt's ``Gnomenreigen'' is just so fast. So,it is played simply mechanically. Daneshpour's recording when he was 12 years old makes me feel relaxed. There are also recordings by the same performer over 30 on YouTube, but the one from when he was younger is definitely better. This is because the nerve conduction speed is faster. However, Farnadi's performance onto 78rpm record when she was a young is not only far superior to this, but whereas the former treats the piece as her own tasks, Farnadi's performance is totally natural. By the way, she has two sides: on the one hand, she is wild and dynamic, and on the other, she is lighter than fluff, and she can go straight or curve as she pleases, and in her freedom there is no trace of physical weight, no trace of emotion, no thread of emotion. However, as she ages, the speed of nerve transmission becomes extremely slow. In her last recording “third year of pilgrimage”, there is no trace of her former agility.
On the other hand, there are pianists who mature into old age. That's exactly what Pollini is. She could neither get experience nor get mature, as already mentioned, the speed of her nerve transmission is significantly reduced.
