InventoryLab Disposition Management: Returns, Removals & Defaults

This tutorial shows how to manage item outcomes in the InventoryLab Disposition Management page so your accounting stays accurate. You navigate: Accounting → Disposition Management. You review a table with Date, Type (Return/Removal/Disposal/Liquidation), Transaction ID (click to open the Removals & Disposals report), Item info (Title/MSKU/ASIN), Selected Disposition, Returned, and By Cost Adjustment. You sort by any header, filter by All/MFN Return/Removal/Disposal/Liquidation, and use Advanced Search for date range, Transaction ID, Title, ASIN, MSKU—or scan a UPC. You export from the top-right when you need a file.

You set “Default Disposition” to save clicks: click the gear near Advanced Search → Accounting Settings → choose Sellable, Unsellable, or Use Amazon Disposition (applies to future transactions). You can override per row: toggle Use Amazon Disposition (gray = using Amazon’s; blue = not) or edit Sellable/Unsellable quantities.

You handle MFN returns: Sellable grants a cost-per-unit credit (not double-counted on resale); Unsellable records a loss. You handle removals: after sync, verify Amazon’s disposition; for post-2020, Sellable needs no CPU credit (refund applied), Unsellable posts a CPU debit; pre-2020 follows Amazon’s original classification. You handle disposals/liquidations: record loss; Amazon fees track automatically; post-2020 adds a CPU debit.
