Aerial footage has captured a volcano spewing lava in Iceland as it erupts after weeks of intense seismic activity.
4,000 people have been evacuated from the area including the nearby fishing town of Grindavik.
Spectators have been observing the eruption from a distance while emergency services continue to take precautions in the area.
Experts believe the eruption won’t cause major disruptions to air travel.
“Fortunately, the eruption is slowing down … we may be seeing the end of this eruption before Christmas,” according to Volcanologist Haraldur Sigurdsson.
