Kromrivier Cederberg Park (and places of interest) in the Cederberg Mountains in South Africa

Cederberg Park is a getaway retreat located on the Kromrivier Farm approximately 250km north of Cape Town. Cederberg Park is the oldest tourist destination in the heart of the Cederberg and is renowned for its well-kept chalets and exclusive camp site. Surrounded by fynbos and majestic orange rock formations, Cederberg Park is considered a popular base for hiking, mountaineering and exploring.

My family has been going there for decades since the early 1970's. It has changed slightly now in that the reception centre and shop are no longer located at the farmhouse itself, with the new centre being built around 2016. Also some new luxury chalet's have been constructed and I'm a bit concerned that I could not find one or two of the older chalets on the map earlier this year so I really hope it's not going to become exclusive and expensive. I usually take my adventure motorcycle out once or twice a year on a day ride, stopping at Kromrvier for brunch and one of their locally brewed craft beers.

This video is a compilation of video clips and stills taken over the last few years at Kromrivier (grouped by location and not chronologically) and also features a 8km day hike to Disa Pool and a visit to the nearby Stadsaal Cave complex to view the bushman paintings. We once also did a hike to here from Kromrivier where the only tricky part is knowing where to cross the river. Kromrvier is well situated for all these attractions as well as to the Maltese Cross. There are also a few geocaches in the area which are great for some extra fun.
