How you can help an opioid overdose

Opioid overdoses are a medical emergency — but knowing what to do can save a life.

This video shows you how to recognize the signs of an overdose and walks you through the steps to respond — including how to check for responsiveness, when to call 911, and how to give naloxone (Narcan).

It’s simple, life-saving information that everyone should know — whether you use opioids, know someone who does, or just want to be prepared.

Remember: Always call for emergency help, even if the person wakes up after naloxone.
