I Want You So Bad - BB King - Bass Cover - Request

Hello :)

This is the requested transcription I've done of the B.B. King song "I Want You So Bad" from 1969. Jerry Jemmott was the bass player on this track.

The intro in this tune is so good. I love how he played it...groooovy! :)

I don't remember hearing this song before, but when I saw that Jerry Jemmott played bass on it, it reminded me of the famous video he did with Jaco. So I went back and found the spot where Jaco says he was influenced by Jerry and he played a sample of what influenced him...it was this song! Haha, or it could've 4 or 5 different songs according to Jerry. Check it out at 56:37. It is one of my favorite parts of the video. Two legends just talking and having fun :) And speaking of this, I think you can really hear Jerry's influence from this song in Jaco's playing. This is an excellent song to learn for bass players and maybe even an important one too ;)

There are lots of little things to watch out for in this song. Rhythm and articulation I'd pay special attention to. It's a real challenge to try and match someone's sense of time and feel on slower tempos. You begin to realize an 8th note is actually quite a long time and there are lots of different ways to play that 8th note.

I have to mention B.B.'s guitar playing and singing too. His back phrasing is so good! It's just...haha, speechless :P
