Kasarani Stadium, officially known as the Moi International Sports Centre, is Kenya’s largest and most important sports arena, located along Thika Road in Nairobi. It was completed in 1987 to host the All-Africa Games, marking Kenya’s entry into hosting major continental events.
Over the years, Kasarani has grown into a regional sporting hub, hosting international football matches, AFCON qualifiers, major athletics championships, and global events such as the World U18 and U20 Athletics Championships. Beyond sports, it has also served as a venue for concerts, political gatherings, religious events, and international forums, making it a key national and cultural landmark.
After years of heavy use and periods of neglect, the stadium has undergone major renovations, including new seating, expanded roofing, improved lighting, media facilities, and modern technology to meet international standards. Today, Kasarani stands renewed — a symbol of Kenya’s sporting ambition and its ability to host Africa and the world.
