5 Tips for Potty Training Your Puppy 🐶💩

Tip 1️⃣ Give your puppy enough opportunity to go outside. Twice a day won’t cut it with a puppy who is still learning ✅

Tip 2️⃣ Reward your puppy when they do go outside. This one is key when potty training your puppy. You can reward with a treat, praise, pets, or even presenting them with a toy. Positive Reinforcement is crucial ✅

Tip 3️⃣ Interrupt them in the act if you catch them going inside. Don’t make a crazy big deal out of it but be sure to make yourself known. Don’t yell, a simple clap and a “no” will be enough to interrupt them and be sure to get them outside to finish up business✅

Tip 4️⃣ Monitor your puppy. This goes hand in hand with tip 1 and tip 3. If you aren’t monitoring your puppy and they’re left unsupervised in the house, you will be finding pee puddles and poop around the house. If you can’t monitor them, try introducing crate training early on ✅

Tip 5️⃣ Clean accidents thoroughly. If any scent of pee or poop is left in the house, they will likely go back to that spot and do it again. Or, if you have other dogs, they might go back and do the same ✅
