As a business analyst, and as a developer, your world will revolve around a Source To Target Mapping. This is usually an excel sheet, also called a Crosswalk or Interface Design Document. These are a layout that analyzes the source, or legacy, systems and also describes the business rules and transformations that need to take place in the client's to be database design.
