Join Beth Bergstrom, MS, CCC-SLP, and Trina Becker, MS, CCC-SLP, for a hands-on look at a real pediatric case involving executive dysfunction. Through guided discussion and clinical reasoning, they’ll review the case history and assessment data to identify underlying factors and determine what’s driving the child’s challenges.
You’ll learn how to build a clear profile of strengths, needs, and functional impact to set meaningful treatment priorities. The presenters will also model how to use client values, clinical judgment, and research to select the most effective treatment approach, resulting in a personalized and functional plan that supports lasting progress in executive function skills.
About the Hosts:
Trina Becker, MS, CCC-SLP, is a professor at Eastern Illinois University in the department of Communication Disorders and Sciences. She is the instructor of the following courses: Augmentative and Alternative Communication, AAC for Beginning Communicators, Phonological Assessment and Remediation, Advanced Speech Sound Disorders, and Advanced Clinical Treatment and Methodology. Trina is the director of clinical services at EIU, co-director of the EIU Autism Center, and supervises graduate student clinicians working with a variety of pediatric communication disorders. Trina and Mrs. Beth Bergstrom founded B&B SLP in 2021 to provide clinically relevant, practical resources and education for professionals and parents. Trina has presented at the state and national levels on various topics, including AAC, Speech Sound Disorders, and Developmental Trauma.
Beth Bergstrom, MS, CCC-SLP, is a Senior Instructor at Eastern Illinois University in the Communication Disorders & Sciences Department. She teaches content in Cleft Lip and Palate, Pediatric Feeding, Evaluation and Therapy, and Clinical Techniques & Diagnostics. She supervises both undergraduate and graduate students in a clinical practicum. Mrs. Bergstrom supervises clients with a variety of disorders, including individuals who have developmental trauma. She serves the multidisciplinary evaluation team for autism at the EIU Autism Clinic. She and Mrs. Trina Becker founded B&B SLP in 2021 to provide clinically relevant, practical resources and education for professionals and parents. She has done presentations at the state and national levels on a variety of topics.
