How to find and pick dulse

Dulse can sometimes be found growing just above the low tide mark in the Bay of Fundy and almost always below the low tide in other parts of the maritimes such as Peggy's Cove.
Use two hands to break the dulse from the hold fast so that it can grow back. Sometimes you will find some that has already broken free, it is still good until it begins to fade or rot.
To store the dulse simply lay it out in the sun to dry on your deck or a clean driveway or if its raining out place on sheets and dry it in the oven. It will begin to rot in a few days if you dont get it dried.
Dulse can be eaten as a snack or made into a delicious seasoning salt. It is also very good when added to Asian style stir fry.
