Rare Axe Restoration With unique Viking-Inspired Transformation.

In this axe restoration video, I bring an old axe back to life with a unique Viking-inspired design! This rare axe restoration project features intricate engravings, a stunning new hickory handle, and a complete transformation into a battle-ready masterpiece.

This is a remastered video version taken from one of my very old projects and improved to fit todays needs. I hope old viewers will like this new video edit anyway!

About This Axe
I’ve had this antique axe for years, waiting for the perfect moment to restore it. While I don’t know much about its origins, I knew it deserved an epic restoration—and what better way than to give it a Nordic Viking touch?

The Restoration Process
Sandblasted the axe to remove rust and imperfections.
Replaced the old, weak handle with a strong, long hickory wood handle for an authentic Viking battle-axe look. Welded and reshaped the axe head for a perfect fit.
Hardened the metal and applied a blackened finish using an oil treatment.
Viking-Inspired Engravings
To complete the transformation, I added detailed Nordic Viking engravings:

A Nordic Eagle symbolizing strength in Norse mythology.
Viking knotwork on the top of the handle.
The Valknut ("The Knot of Slain Warriors") at the bottom of the shaft.
