Finally a fix for key fobs eating batteries? Are you sick and tied of your key fob running out of power after just a few weeks after replacing the battery? Been back to the dealer and still no solution? I have been plagued with the same problem and been wrongly told by the dealer that I need a new key fob. So I monitored what happened from the day I added a new battery to understand the exact problem. No it's NOT magnets, no it's NOT RF interference most of those are just myths. I found that when you add a fresh battery there is enough power being transmitted to overcome the problem. After a few weeks this power weakens and the problem arises.This video shows the most likely issue with the key fob no matter what model or make your vehicle is. This quick fix should help if not solve the problem with what you suspect is a battery drain but isn't. Every body should learn how to open their fob as at some point your are likely to come across the problem especially if you have had your car for some time. It is not the make of batteries, I have tried that and been through many brands. Dealers will not tell you this. I believe that dealers either don't want you to know it or have no idea about the solution.
