Video Title: Geumsansa Shrine | Historic Tribute to Commander Kim Yu-sin | Korea's Cultural Heritage
Video Description:
Join us as we explore Geumsansa Shrine, a sacred site at the foot of Geumhwasan Mountain in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Designated as Local Historic Site No. 7, this shrine was established by the Gimhae Kim family to honor the legendary commander Kim Yu-sin and celebrate the Hwarang spirit that played a key role in unifying the Three Kingdoms of Korea.
Also enshrined here is Choe Chi-won, a scholar who contributed to the development of Gukak (traditional Korean music) and promoted Confucianism during the Silla dynasty.
The shrine complex includes Soseulsaemun, Sadang, and symbolic plaques such as Wigungmun and Geumsansaegi, which preserve records of the shrine's history and restorations in 1935 and 1971. A memorial ceremony is held twice a year — in February and August — according to the lunar calendar.
📍 Location: San 14, Changok-ri, Paltan-myeon, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do
🕊️ A peaceful site rich with Korea’s spiritual and cultural legacy.
