It’s not only the tallest mountain in Acadia National Park, but for much of the year, it’s also the first place in the U.S. where the sun’s rays strike each morning! A popular spot for both sunrise and sunset, Cadillac Mountain offers panoramic views of Bar Harbor, Bar Island, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Schoodic Peninsula.

The best part? You can drive right to the summit, making it an easy and accessible way to enjoy breathtaking views. Bass Harbor Headlight: Stunning Sunsets & Scenic Views

We also visit Bass Harbor Headlight, one of Acadia National Park’s most beloved lighthouses, offering incredible sunset views. This 35-foot lighthouse is located on the quieter side of Mount Desert Island and provides a beautiful waterfront backdrop.

For a more adventurous experience, take the trail at the end of the parking, lot near the restrooms. It leads to a rock scramble by the water, giving you a unique perspective of the lighthouse. It’s the perfect spot for capturing a sunset, but be sure to arrive early as parking is limited!
