The DIP (Disciplined and Intelligent Person's) Diet is a plant-based nutritional plan created by Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury. Inspired by "The China Study" and Ayurvedic principles, it emphasizes consuming natural, unprocessed foods in a specific sequence to promote weight loss and potentially help reverse lifestyle diseases.
The diet is centered on a "two-plate" system for lunch and dinner, preceded by a fruits-only regimen in the morning.
Morning (until 12 noon): Consume only seasonal fruits. The quantity should be your body weight in kilograms multiplied by 10, in grams. For example, a 70 kg person would eat 700 grams of fruits.
Lunch and Dinner: Both meals follow a two-plate rule:
Plate 1 (raw food): Eat this first. It consists of raw vegetables like carrots, cucumbers, and tomatoes. The quantity should be your body weight in kilograms multiplied by 5, in grams. Finish this plate entirely before moving on.
Plate 2 (cooked food): This comes after Plate
1. It consists of a simple, home-cooked vegetarian meal with minimal oil and salt, such as rice, lentils, or chapati. You eat this until you feel satisfied.
Foods to Avoid: All animal products (meat, fish, eggs, dairy), packaged and processed foods, refined flour, sugar, and oils are strictly forbidden.
Benefits: Proponents suggest the diet can aid in natural weight loss, improve digestion, increase energy, and detoxify the body.
