The loco's were working a variety of one-off and Cumbrian Mountain Express Tours.

Penrith Railway Station (also known as Penrith North Lakes) is situation between Carlisle and Oxenholme on the West Coast Mainline. It was opened in 1846 as part of the Lancaster and Carlisle railway and is now part of the West Coast Mainline, this part of which was electrified in 1974. It is approximately 14 miles north of Shap Summit, and the buildings were listed in 1983. The modern footbridge was added in 2016.
