Dust storms are quite common in Kuwait, especially during the dry season, which usually runs from April to September. These storms occur due to strong winds that lift loose dust and sand into the air, drastically reducing visibility and affecting air quality. They can last anywhere from a few hours to several days and are often accompanied by high temperatures.
During a dust storm, it’s advised to stay indoors as much as possible, keep windows and doors closed, and wear protective gear like masks or goggles if going outside is necessary. Dust storms can also disrupt travel, both on the roads and at airports, so checking for updates on local news or weather apps is important.
