The alignment of the PPF is critical to ensure proper operation of and reduce vibration and wear on the drivetrain components. Truthfully, the PPF should only need to be aligned if work has been done that involved movement/removal of the PPF or it is possible that an MX-5 that has been in an accident could have the driveline out of alignment, but it never hurts to check anyway!
