DESCRIPTION:
On April 12, 2024, Eastpointe Police responded to a duplex fire. The fire marshal confirmed the blaze started in two separate locations—arson.
Resident Tamika Bridges contacted police from a hospital, claiming her ex-boyfriend Keith Campbell assaulted her and was left inside the burning home. One problem: Campbell had been in prison since February 2024.
Surveillance footage captured Bridges calmly leaving 12 minutes before flames erupted. No one else entered or exited.
Bridges disconnected her phone and vanished. Detectives tracked her through CashApp to Akron, Ohio. U.S. Marshals located her five months later.
During interrogation, when confronted about Campbell being incarcerated, Bridges admitted she knew.
Her Section 8 housing was being terminated for non-payment.
Tamika Bridges was sentenced to 1-20 years in prison for first-degree arson and is currently incarcerated at Huron Valley Women’s Correctional Facility.
