In Pakistan’s solar industry, most clients judge proposals only on cost comparison. The EPC that quotes the lowest price wins and that is exactly why many companies avoid following IEC, IEEE, and local standards.
If you apply proper cable sizing, protection design, grounding criteria, structure load calculations, and BOS component standards, the cost naturally increases and you lose the project.
This race for the “lowest bid” is damaging our industry:
• Safety is compromised
• Performance drops
• Failures increase
• And clients eventually pay more in the long run
In this video, I’ve explained this issue from an engineering and industry-insider perspective. It’s not criticism it’s a wake-up call for both EPCs and clients to shift from cheap to compliant.
