Who are the Garifuna People?

One of the reasons why I moved to Roatan was to reconnect with my Garifuna roots. Although I always knew I was Garifuna, I didn't know much about my amazing culture until college. Part of my Roatan journey has been deep research about my culture. I've interviewed elders from the village and other Garifuna villages, connected with Garifuna scholars/educators, traveled to Saint Vincent, and currently in the process of co-producing a documentary.

You will be hearing a lot about my culture in future videos. That is why I decided to make this video as an introduction ( don't wanna lose ya'll 😀)
