Why is Petzl using thin HMPE on the newest Connect Adjust personal anchor and telling us to girth hitch it to our belay loops? Thin HMPE slings cut belay loops! I saw it in a youtube video after all lol ( • How do you know yours is safe? .

SLOW PULL TESTS = slipped at 3-5kN
DROP TESTS = with a 73kg weight in a FF2, it slipped all the way to the knot and the peak force was ~7kN to ~8kN until our final drop broke it at ~11kN… at the stopper knot.
FUNCTIONS = With a wider head and a 9.0mm rope (vs the old 9.5mm) it is smoother. It can in theory be released under load but it’s not elegant.
We tested the old Petzl Adjust lanyard and lots of other adjustable lanyards in this video.
• So, are any of these safe?
