A39 Bude to Bideford

Starting at in sleepy north Cornwall seaside town of Bude we join the A39 and ride the 25 miles northeast and cross into Devon heading for Bideford. This is a classic country A road with hedge lined bends and open vistas of the coast, that can be fun and challenging in the right conditions. However, the route can often be busy, particularly in summer and slower moving traffic can be a problem.

This ride was taken as part of a 3 day mini-tour inspired by Adventure Bike Riders King Arthur’s Way, modified to take in more of the twisties, and even though the starting out drizzly the A 39 still proved to be fun when clear.
