Inauguration: The official inauguration ceremony took place in November 2025, during the Diocese of Crato's Jubilee of Hope celebrations.
Significance: The statue is located within the Shrine of Our Lady of Fátima, which includes a replica of the Chapel of the Apparitions in Fátima, Portugal. It is expected to boost faith tourism and the local economy.
The Inauguration Ceremony
More than 35,000 pilgrims gathered for the solemn event, which included a Mass, a candlelight procession, and the return of the original World Pilgrim Image of Fátima from Portugal to Crato after 72 years. The statue's unveiling marks a long-standing tradition of devotion to Our Lady of Fátima in the city, where numerous public facilities, streets, and neighborhoods already bear her name.
