Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has announced that the time required to obtain a sanad has been reduced from 60 days to 45 days as part of the government’s latest reform measures. Under the Jan Vishwas initiative, Goa has shifted 28 Acts from imprisonment provisions to monetary penalties, aligning the state with India’s broader decriminalisation policy.
The Chief Minister also confirmed that the road tax exemption for mining trucks, earlier granted for a limited period, has now been extended for two more years—up to March 2027.
Additionally, the Goa Cabinet has approved amendments to the compensation scheme. CM Sawant stated that priority will be given to children who have lost both parents, ensuring they receive timely assistance.
