Throwback Thursday - Drunk 18-Year-Old Gets Introduced to "The Wrap"

On April 22, 2023, Roswell Police Sergeant Reese observed a female motorist commit several traffic infractions. He initiated a traffic stop and the 18-year-old driver admitted to consuming alcohol. After a series of field sobriety tests, she was arrested for DUI. She became very vocal and argumentative, directing profanity at the officer who handcuffed her. Once at the police station, she submitted to an evidential breath test (EBT) and the results were 0.19% and 0.17% BAC. She was then placed in a holding cell, where she allegedly tried to harm herself. In New Mexico, a defendant arrested for DUI cannot be released until they see a judge. Having been arrested on a Saturday evening, she was scheduled to be transported to the Chaves County Jail for her arraignment She was placed in "The Wrap" restraint system for the transport to jail.
