🦋 This yoga sequence is for anyone who has recently undergone abdominal surgery of any kind and is in recovery. The exercises and postures in this video are specifically chosen to be gentle enough to be started a few weeks after the operation and into the recovery process. 🌟

In my first video created for yoga after abdominal surgery (link above), the primary focus is very gentle healing, relaxation and stretching, with some very subtle strengthening. In this new video, 25 mins post op yoga for gentle strengthening, I've shifted the focus slightly to bringing strength to areas of the body that are likely to have lost some muscle tone during the early stages of recovery. We focus on the pelvic floor, inner core muscles and even some gentle toning of the legs and arms. The sequence still includes some stretching out of the body so it can be used on its own, however, this practice would be perfect used in conjunction with my first video, as they compliment each other well.
My inspiration for creating this second video of yoga for after abdominal surgery is twofold: my dear friend whom I made the original video for (to offer her an alternative to using just one video!), and all the other wonderful humans who stumbled across that video and are using it to aid their recovery. Thank you for your kind words of encouragement and support. I'm so happy these videos are helping you heal your body.
As always, please be mindful of using this video (and any of my videos) without prior guidance from your doctor. If you've very recently gone through surgery, please leave enough time - a few weeks at least - to allow your wound and scar to recover enough before starting on this rehabilitation program of exercises.
I wish you health and healing 🌿 blessings on your recovery 🙏✨ love to you 💜
⭐✨ Once you've recovered considerably, check out my playlist of Gentle Yoga videos, as quite a few of the sequences on there will be suitable for the next stage of recovery the body:
• Gentle Hatha Yoga
⭐✨ Also, try my Yoga for Core Strength, where we focus on building up abs and core muscles, which is perfect for that next stage of rehabilitation:
