As of January 2026, construction on the Jurong Region Line continues to reshape the heart of Jurong West.
Today, I’m standing near Gek Poh, visiting two long-standing temples that now sit right at the edge of a rapidly changing landscape.
This corner of Jurong West captures a striking contrast — tradition and progress side by side.

Just across the road, Gek Poh Shopping Centre is entering its final chapter. The current structure is slated for demolition, making way for a completely new Gek Poh Shopping Centre, targeted for completion around August 2028.
