Founded in 1995, the Mid-Norfolk Railway Preservation Trust celebrates 30 years this year and they put on a little show to celebrate that milestone.
The event took place over the weekend of the 22/23rd March seeing a fairly busy timetable with 10 departures from Dereham both days. Utilising two sets, one with the MNR home fleet of diesel locos and the other being formed of the visiting HST.
With the exporting of Class 43 Powercars and Mk3 coaches, Romic (who are in charge of this operation) have a few Powercars and Mk3's stored at the Mid-Norfolk to be prepared ready for the shipping to Nigeria or Mexico, there are a few operational powercars so in kindness, Romic supplied two ex-Great Western Railway Powercars and some ex-CrossCountry Mk3 coaches which are the ones used on the recent Midland Mainline electrification testing.
The home fleet on the Saturday consisted of Class 33 33202 and Class 47 47580 top and tailing 3 ex-Greater Anglia Mk3's and a DVT, the Sunday would see the 33 replaced by Class 47 D1933. Also a Sunday only event was the return of Driver for a Fiver at Dereham station using Class 03 03063.
I visited the Wymondham end of the railway on the Saturday to video and photograph the trains rumbling up and down, the weather was mixed with it spitting with rain every so often but the temperature made up for it. The Sunday of the event is to be me behind the locos and to be sheltered from the weather!

Class 33 - 33202 'Dennis G. Robinson' (ran on the Saturday only)*
