We needed this (and it was AMAZING).

We needed this weekend away at our off-grid cabin, with the wood-fired hot tub, and it was amazing 💕 The last time we were there for a stay was early November I think, so it was great to share our cabin again with the stink bugs 🤭 They welcomed us with open wings 😆
With still too much snow high up on the mountain, driving in at this time isn't possible, so we access our property by boat at this time of year. We knew the weather would be reasonable out there, and minimal to no snow, so we knew we wanted to spend the long weekend at the cabin.
It was such a lovely and relaxing weekend, with the 5 dogs and cat, although we quickly discovered that there is another cat living around the place - a cougar! Tons of cougar poop all over the place, and paw prints (both fresh too!), plus a fairly fresh deer hoof by the cabin has made us sure there is a cougar living close by. We set up game cameras before leaving, so hopefully we see something on them. This has me slightly concerned for myself as I consider staying at the cabin and hiking up to the cliff to work on the cliff cabin over the next couple of months. Hmmm. Maybe I will have to just camp on the cliff...
Our massive wood-fired hot tub is amazing, when it's hot and ready to go, but it takes an incredible amount of work to get it amazing. I spend a lot of time on it, and it chews up a lot of wood. For our shorter stays at the cabin (one night, maybe 2 at times) that's when we will appreciate the smaller hot tub (the ore car hot tub) once we finally get it done (I think we have too many things on the go. 🤪)
I absolutely love these cold water dips. I look forward to them every trip out there. I kept the one dip in real time (rather than editing it down) because it took a tremendous amount of effort to stay in the water that long, and with such a beautiful and peaceful view, why not.
Our weekend wouldn't be complete if it didn't involve a Clyde retrieval, and we were lucky to get him just before dark our first night, otherwise he would have spent the night outside somewhere. We could not live without those Garmin GPS collars (Garmin Astro 900 is the ones we have, older versions).
Thanks so much for watching!
See you in the next video 😊💝
(The tiny dog you've been seeing lately is Arrow. I am looking after him for our friend Bruce, who will be back early March)
