BMW S1000RR MIGHT BE THE DREAM BIKE FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE OUT THERE BUT THERE ARE A FEW THINGS YOU MUST CONSIDER BEFORE GETTING YOUR BIKE

1. PREMIUM PETROL
Coming from INDIA, there is a lack of QUALITY premium petrol which is widely NOT available in the country, Even if it is, It is very costly and not up to the mark of international RON STANDARDS

2. MSRP
The RETAIL PRICE of BMW S1000RR IN INDIA is bonkers, due to the import duties and taxes and a charge called "HANDLING CHARGES" and enormous TDS and ROAD TAX

3. MILEAGE
Although the bike is 998 CC similar displacement to a KAWASAKI ZX-10R, but the fueling is not optimised as well as the JAPANESE COUNTERPART

4. HEATING ISSUES
The bike gets really hot, and is not recommended to ride in this sub-continent which gets really worse in the SUMMERS and adds on to the problems of heat, The bike casually runs above 80 DEGREES CELSIUS most of the time

5. FLAWED DESIGN
The bike has one of the worst CATALYTIC CONVERTOR PLACEMENT on a litre class bike, and due the the IMPOSSIBLE SPEED BREAKERS, the bike almost kisses the road

6. LACK OF SERVICE NETWORK
The BMW group here in INDIA is not widely available, and even if so they are, the technicians are not UP TO THE MARK and the casual service attitude leaves the SUPERBIKES not treated in a way that they should, because most of the time, the service centres work on LOWER CC bikes and the skillset gets accustomed to the same. Also the lack of INVENTORY causes a lot of issues and the waiting time for SPARES is another gripe

7. MAINTAINANCE COSTS
Well there is no doubt if the bike COSTS more, its even more expensive to MAINTAIN it, Since BMW does not allow services to be carried out at NON-AUTHORISED CENTRES, and will VOID the warranty if found so. The LABOUR charge is enormous and the total bill of spares adds on to the tragedy of maintaining such a bike in this environment
