Dink Smallwood Any% Speedrun in

I wanted to get a decent run on pre-HD Dink Smallwood because it was the first game I really put effort into speedrunning some ~8 years ago, and here it is! Good run overall, got all the RNG I wanted except for gold being kinda bad so I ended up grinding all pillbugs and boncas in Darklands.

This route ended up really nice too; besides the OOB buying you can't really get destroyed by RNG anymore, there's always a good backup for gold and the exp is super lenient as opposed to last route. Even if it was slightly slower I'd still probably run this route-- thankfully it's fast though :)

The biggest mistake was accidentally eating the nut before buying elixirs so that clawsword ended up at the wrong place in inventory which slowed the Seth fight quite significantly. Other than that there's some iffy movement in the non-random sections as well as bad early game, but overall I'd say it ended up pretty nice and I'm happy to put this down with a 19:26


This is done on the v1.07c patch which is basically just the v1.08 code used on top of the v1.07 game files but reintroducing the screen lock edge glitch and adding a way to disable music so you can bypass screen transition lag without disabling sound entirely

After all the version testing I found that the run potentially could have been faster on v1.02 because there is an insanely good OOB available from an unfinished secret cave in Windemere as well as a hardness hole at Edge of the World, but unfortunately Seth has an additional 25 defense in that version which only got nerfed in v1.06 onwards. For that reason, v1.02 is probably never going to be fast in any category except maybe 100%. v1.06 is the same as v1.07 speedwise except for Mog being harder, so v1.07 would also be better for glitchless
