Sterling Cruiser (named for a certain "grey ghost", a '70 Olds '98) grew out of the duo of Tim Dunn & Chuck Jung, who performed as Ozone Eddie On Time for the 1976 Catlin Gabel winter play - directed by Hester Buell. Soon adding Joey Edelman on piano, Bill Polits joined after an inspired jam at the end of the dress rehearsal for the '77 talent show. Nadine joined in the winter of '78, when we also brought in Doug Kangieser (deceased) of Molalla HS on bass guitar. Having last played at the '79 CG talent show doing an early Grateful Dead impersonation (complete with cig smoking roadies...ask Tim about this!), the jubilant atmosphere of the Peggy & Ken reunion of 2023 inspired the band to reform decades(!) later, with the steady & able talents of Ed Bartlett replacing those of the late Mr. Kangieser.
Sterling Cruiser is thrilled to come back together to play our original classic rock repertoire (Stones, Dead, Hendrix, Santana, etc.) for this year's Reunion Bash, opening for these hot local acts:
Brother's Jam, rock, blues, folk, reggae, and soul dance band fronted by the Catlin-related Jamey Hampton,
The Danny Schauffler Quintet: R & B with a Jazz-Energy Mix of Cool Classics and originals.
Sterling Cruiser:
Nadine Stanton, percussion and vocals
Tim Dunn, drums
Joey Edelman, keyboards and vocals
Chuck Jung, guitar and vocals
Bill Polits, guitar and vocals
Ed Bartlett, bass
with Nelson Daggett, congas, bongos & percussion
