Huge Art | The Art of the Street

Daniel Fahlström aka “Huge” has been interested in art since childhood when his grandmother continued her skills in drawing and painting.

When he discovered the graffiti culture at the age of ten, he opened a door to a whole new world and began painting both walls and tunnels in his hometown north of Stockholm. Already at the age of 15, commissions were started in the form of painting walls in schools and at companies. Daniel painted both texts and characters and strived to find a photorealistic style in his painting.

At the age of 20, he began painting with Airbrush. Since then he makes a living from painting on behalf of companies and individuals. Painting with spraycans has always been instrumental. Huge has made several attentive public wallpaintings in Stockholm as well as in other parts of Sweden. He is best known for his “Helium Graffiti”, where he paints photorealistic texts in the form of helium balloons. The balloons typically reflect the surroundings where the painting is located.

Daniel “Huge” Fahlström har varit intresserad av konst sedan barnsben då hans mormor lärde honom teckna och måla. När han vid tio års ålder upptäckte graffitikulturen öppnades en dörr till en helt ny värld.

Huge började måla både väggar och tunnlar i sin hemstad norr om Stockholm. Redan vid femton års ålder började han få uppdrag att måla väggar i skolor och hos företag. Huge målade texter samt figurer och strävade efter en fotorealistisk stil. Vid tjugo års ålder började han måla med airbrush och har sedan dess livnärt sig på motivlackering åt företag och privatpersoner.

Sprejburkar har ständigt varit ett verktyg och Huge har gjort flera uppmärksammade offentliga muralmålningar i Stockholm samt andra delar av Sverige. Han är mest känd för sin “heliumgraffiti” då han målar fotorealistiska texter i form av heliumballonger. Hans ballonger reflekterar ofta omgivningen där målningen befinner sig.
