Mandu Maheshwar Tour | Full History & Tourist Guide in Hindi | मांडू और महेश्वर का इतिहास

Today we going to visit Maheshwar & Mandu, after clicking some photos at the Dam site in Omkareshwar we started our journey at around 10:30am.

Maheshwar is about 66km. from here which will take around 1.40 mins to reach, we set our location on Google maps and we reached the backside of Maheshwar Fort, you can get a nice parking space here.

We entered through Kamani Gate, you can also enter by Ahilya Gate which is the main entry point of this Fort. after covering a small distance we saw a small temple complex of King Sahastrarjuna, the mighty king who held Ravana as a prisoner for many months here. Apart from this, there is one more temple of Shiva, the unique aspect of this Shiva temple is the 11 lamps that are supposed been burning since pre-historic times.

After taking blessings from here we left for the main Maheshwar Fort, which is just a few steps ahead. The Main Attractions of this fort are Ahileshwar Mahadev, Tukoji's Chatri, Main Narmada Ghat, and Rajwada & Maheshwari silk factory outlet.

We quickly visited all these places as we wanted to reach Mandu before the evening. after finishing our lunch in Maheshwar, we left for Mandu aka Mandavgad, which is about 40km. away from Maheshwar and it will take around 1.40 mins to reach, as there is a small Ghat section in this route.

We reached Mandu by around 6.00pm. We stayed at the Hotel Royal Palace (opp. Jain Temple, Mandu) our rooms were ok, we paid Rs.1200 for a night, there is a small restaurant in this hotel so we finished our dinner there only.

Next-Day we had a plan to explore Mandu, so we went to the main market to have some Breakfast, we saw one monument in front of us which is known as Jami Masjid. While having breakfast we had a small conversation with the hotel owner about sightseeing, he suggested we should hire a guide if we really want to know the real history of Mandu, so we started thinking about it.

When we came to Jami Masjid again we saw a signboard of Shree Ram Mandir, so we decided to start our journey by visiting Chaturbhuj Ram Mandir first. When we visited this temple we came to know that this is the one and only Ram Mandir in the world which is having a Ram Idol with four arms.

As we reached Jami Masjid, there were many people who approached us to hire them as a guide, we ask them about their charges, some said around Rs.1000, some said Rs.1200, and after a short bargain we hired one in Rs.700.

With him, we visited many places like- Ashrafi Mahal, Jami Masjid, Hoshangshah Tomb, Dai Ka Mahal or Eco Point, Roopmati Pavilion, Baz Bahadurs Palace, Jahaz Mahal, Hindola Mahal, Champa Bavli, Queen's Residence Complex, Hamam, Kapoor Talab & Taweli Mahal, etc.

Our guide has given us brief information about all these places, but we also missed many places due to lack of time, if you are planning to visit Mandu at least spare 2-3 days here.

We concluded our sightseeing by 3.30 pm and started our onward journey to our home with lots of sweet memories.
